We are a think tank aspiring to contribute through our cutting edge
research
work in the field of ecology, environment, and sustainability. We want
to establish ourselves as an advocacy group which can influence
decision makers to incorporate sustainability in their decisions.
Founded in 2014 CREESS
explores areas such as environmental management, human ecology, industrial
ecology, environmental ethics, traditional knowledge, and cultural ecology. We are in the field of dance ecology, folklore, and
artforms with reference to its connections with traditional technology
& wisdom, conservation of natural resources, and sustainability. We
work with 'Baiga' community in MP and Chattisgarh and 'Kaibartya' fishing
community in Assam. We are associated with other national level cultural
research organisations too.
We provide consultany to industries in the areas of EIA, SIA, CIA and preparation
of EMP, in oil and gas exploration/production, and hydroelectric power projects
in India. We have worked with Oil and Gas industries in Assam, Arunachal
Pradesh, and Myanmar and Coal bed methane (CBM) blocks in Madhya pradesh. We also advise in the field of spatial planning with reference to
sustainable urban development, urban metabolism, ecological
footprint analysis, and developing framework for strategic environmental assessment for flood. Our
special focus is on north eastern states of India and its overall sustainable
